On Sunday September 11, 2011 at 1 p.m., we will be recognizing and remembering the 21 London Fire Fighters who have given their lives in service to their community. We will also be remembering the 343 members of the FDNY, Police, EMS personnel and the thousands of citizens that lost their lives in the World Trade Centre attacks on September 11, 2001.
This year will be very special as not only are we commemorating the 10th anniversary of 9/11, but we will also be dedicating our own monument to London’s 21 Fallen Fire Fighters. This monument is a co-operative effort between the Association and City of London and will be a great addition to our community. It will give families, friends and the general public a solemn place to pause, remember and reflect.
I would encourage all members, and families if they wish, to attend this special event. Full dress uniform, white shirt, with cap.
Fraternally,
Jim Holmes, President London Professional Fire Fighters Association Brother Corey Thompson is a member of the LPFFA and he along with Juno Award winner Dan Brodbeck have written, recorded, engineered and produced a tribute song to all those that fell on "9-11". The song "the rescue" was inspired by the unparalleled rescue efforts made at the world Trade Center on September 11th 2001. You are invited to go to www.therescue.ca to listen to their tribute song and you can download it from iTunes for a minimum donation of $1.00.
